| Following the update of Thunderbird to 2.0.0.5 I've lost my British
dictionary. Installing the latest from Mozilla doesn't help as it claims
to be incompatible!
Anyone else having this problem?

Openoffice was similar, apparently I just had to download a language
pack and use the language pack wizard or something like that in
"wizards" menu entry in the file menu, alas no such entry! Some file
editing and prodding around sorted it in the end.

Yeah, been bitten by that one too
I did find the wizard though. From memory I think it /is/ in the File
menu, but not exactly where they say. It's very kludgey and the fact
that you need to restart OO to get the new dictionaries working is a pain.
Plus, it seems some documents/templates that pre-date the British
dictionary are stuck on the defualt US English language. That is a real
bind! |

It really wasn't anywhere on mine, I searched all the menus, checked
't internet and even slaughered a chicken but no appropriate "wizard"
despite me finding the wizard menu. The package manager menu would
have been a sensible place to put it but it wasn't there either.

I've been bitten by this here a few times, too. Having standard English
as the default would help, of course, but for some reason, we're stuck
with yank.

FYI: If you're running KDE you can open a Konqueror browser window on
it's containing directory and drag&drop it into the Add-ons->Themes window.

Just because I've written it doesn't mean that
either you or I have to believe it. |
