Hello all, I'm running 64-bit Squeeze. I have been trying to get Adobe
Air apps to run. The Air Installer installed after I installed a bunch
of the 32-bit compatibility libraries, and I was able to get Tweetdeck to
install. It even starts up, but the Tweetdeck window is missing rather a
lot of essential widgets Smile

The page at

http://www.adobe.com/go/kb408084

lists the libraries needed, but looking through the package lists there
are some that don't show. So either they are provided by different
packages, or they don't exist in Squeeze.

Does anyone have Adobe Air applications running under 64-bit Squeeze?
Does anyone have any clues, hints, or suggestions?

Thanks,
M

Anyone? I can't believe *no-one* here knows what I'm on about?

I'm getting nothing but a row of buttons across the top of Tweetdeck
that do nothing except crash it with the logout button with plain 32-bit
Debian testing. So far none of the "solutions" I've run across make any
difference to it.

Right now, the only Air Twitter app I've found that will run half
decently is DestroyTwitter, but it has some fairly big issues I have to
work around, such as it adding a
~/.kde/share/mimelnk/application/octet-stream.desktop file every time
it's started, which renders KDE pretty much fubar until it's deleted.

And then I just ran across a fairly well buried little factlet here
http://tweetdeck.uservoice.com/pages/1192-general/suggestions/42636-li...-kde-tw
that said it needs KDE Wallet, and after I started it up, it works!

I do wish it was able to store its own passwords though, I hate having
to start up something like that just to run one single app...

Your original experience with Tweetdeck exactly matches mine.

Very grateful for the KDE Wallet tip though, I shall test that when the
time arises.

I eventually managed to get Seesmic to work, although it has difficulty
remembering my password.

It turns out that Twhirl works fine, except that I need to enter my
password at startup, but since that's once a day I can live with it Smile

Thanks very much for your reply.
