Hello.

I am using the latest 64-bit Iceweasel v3.6.26 package, from apt-get's
"deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports iceweasel-3.6", and
the latest 64-bit Flash player plugins from
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/lin...install
.... However, it crashes when I exit Iceweasel after showing Flash. When
I don't see Flash especially with the latest FlashBlock extension
(useful), then no crashes. I have no problems with the downloaded 32-bit
SeaMonkey v2.7.x from Mozilla's server with the latest 32-bit Flash
player plugins. Both Flash are in /home/Flash/ directory as flash32/ and
flash64/ subdirectories. Also, I can't get 32-bit Flash to work in
64-bit Iceweasel, so I assume that's normal (by design due to not being
backward compatible). Here's my /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and 64-bit
Flash setups:
$ ls -all
total 484
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 18 10:20 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Nov 27 14:33 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 Dec 18 10:20 libflashplayer.so ->
/home/flash/flash64/libflashplayer.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5400 Dec 31 2010
librhythmbox-itms-detection-plugin.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 110176 Dec 22 2010 libtotem-cone-plugin.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 115488 Dec 22 2010 libtotem-gmp-plugin.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 79152 Dec 22 2010 libtotem-mully-plugin.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 86464 Dec 22 2010 libtotem-narrowspace-plugin.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 75448 May 16 2011 skypebuttons.so

$ ls -all /home/flash/flash64/
total 18356
drwxr-xr-x 3 ant ant 4096 Mar 6 05:19 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 Mar 6 05:18 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 ant ant 18782520 Feb 27 19:49 libflashplayer.so
drwxr-xr-x 5 ant ant 4096 Feb 27 19:49 usr

Does anyone have any ideas how to make this annoying crash stop? I am
using Debian stable, with all of its updates, from the end of November
2011. I have both Gnome v2.3's Gnome-terminal and bug reporter's results
in http://pastie.org/private/n1zib8al0jtagk3xhdhkw ... I couldn't use
strace -o method ("strace iceweasel -o strace.txt") since both strace
and Iceweasel froze hard and I had to use kill -9 commands. Sad

Thank you in advance. Smile

This is probably a problem with flash player, not firefox. Adobe doesn't
support the linux version of flash any more anyway, so I would recommend
migrating away from it. You could try using gnash (apt-get install
browser-plugin-gnash). You'll probably need to grab the latest version
though, as the one that comes with squeeze is pretty buggy. I'm using the
wheezy package and it works well with youtube and most flash games.
