Archived from groups: opera>linux (more info?)

1. I started Opera w/ an empty perssonaldir.

2. I did opera:config and set Spoof UserAgent to 4.

3. I stoped Opera

4. I restarted Opera went to http://www.nytimes.com

5. When I looked at its' Sites preferences and it said "Identify as
Internet Explorer"?

6. Opera's override_downloaded.ini file does not mention 'nytimes'.

7. The output of opera:config also showed an option called 'Script
Spoof' -- this option is not documented at
http://www.opera.com/support/usingopera/operaini/

Somthing doesn't see quite right? A grep of the opera6.ini file shows
the value to be 4; opera:config shows the value to 3. Clearly Opera is
disregarding the 4 (mask) and always using 3.

I must be missing something.

Comments?

Certainly.

I don't know whether I mis-read the documentation or they changed it
but 4 or 5 can only be set via Edit site preferences i.e. not
globally. I would have thought that instead of changing 4 or 5 to 3,
they would have chanaged it to 1, but what do I know. That resolves
the first part of my question.

I still don't see 'Script Spoof' documented. I consider the bug-report
still open.

Right.

Buglet.

'Script spoof' is about the navigator.userAgent value reported by
javascript. The documentation will be updated soon, and the buglet will be
fixed. Thanks for the report.
