Yeah; that was to be expected by the package name change; I don't feel
like requesting bin NMUs for experimental as the release managers are
overworked, and I don't feel like doing a binary rebuild of nautilus
and others. This should fix itself with the next nautilus upload.

Ok. Back to hibernation mode then, patiently waiting for an installable
gnome 2.16.

Haha, never mind, I've uploaded nautilus 2.16.3-5 for i386 and made it
autobuildable! (I thought it already was and the buildd was slacking.)

And you thought you could take some rest.

Yess !! You made it, today is the first day of gnome 2.16 on debian Smile
"aptitude -t experimental install gnome" worked perfectly.

Thanks a lot to everyone involved.

I confirm, I just did a full sid -> experimental upgrade of the GNOME
packages (well, anything pulled by gnome-desktop-environment 2.16), and
it went nicely.

Even gnome (which pulls gnome-desktop-environment, gnome-office, gnome-
games, etc.) upgrades to experimental fine.

I had to pull by hand some packages though:

gnome-theme-extra
metacity (maybe because I had a hand-built package of compiz)
evolutions-plugins (even if evolution upgraded cleanly)
'~n gstreamer0.10' (but maybe gstreamer is not considered part of gnome)
gnome-desktop-data
service-discovery-applet (obviously not part of gnome) and avahi*

And I could not update seahorse, since it removes gnupg-agent, and some
of my users depend on this package (KDE => gnupg-agent).
This is because of
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=407800
which seems to me badly handled.

I will test it today. In fact, I came back to metacity (after trying beryl
and compiz) because I had problems with both (but it was two early
versions, so maybe it is better nowadays).

But compiz 0.2.2-1 is co-installable with metacity.

The conflict is there due to an ABI breakage in libmetacity0, so when
building compiz against a newer version, the conflict should be changed
against the older versions.

Some people even claimed that compiz in experimental fixes the problem
altogether, rendering the conflict moot, but I haven't seen any evidence
to substantiate that.
