Can someone please tell me what these symbols (keys) are called? If there is a more proper name than what I have indicated or if any of these are wrong, let me know. (?) means I don't know the name of that symbol.

next to 1 key
(~) = tilde
(`) = (?)

above the 2
(@) = at sign

above the 3
(#) = pound sign (number sign)

above the 6
(^) = caret

above the 8
(*) = asterisk (star)

next to +/=
(|) = (?)
() = slash (back slash) (backward slash)

next to ;: and Enter keys
(") = quotes
(') = apostrophe

under the ? key, next to Right Shift key
(/) = forward slash

above the comma key
(<) = (?)

above the period/decimal key
(>) = (?)

I have always gotten a kick out of some of the names assigned:
Quote:
A solid vertical bar "|" is called a PIPE
The number sign "#" is called a HASH
Forward slash "/" is called a WHACK
Exclamation point "!" is called a BANG

You can go to your StartMenu>Run dialog>>Type "charmap" and see all the other ASCII character set(s) that can be achieved via keycodes using the numpad!
