how to save flash games/animation

I want to save flash games so I could play it without connectiong to internet. I used a shareware called flash catcher, but all I got is a static frame, just like a single frame of an animation.

Anybody can help?

When your on a website with a flash page just click on View -> Source and find the link to the Flash file in the HTML code. Copy and paste that into a Download Manager or else you can probably nab it through IE.

I use software called Proxomitron Universal Web Filter and have disabled flash all together. Basically, when I visit a page with flash on it, there is a link that I can click on if I wish to view the flash animation. I can also right click on the link and save as...

Works great! Very Happy

Load the flash file. Once it is complete, go to your Temporary Internet Files folder and find a .swf file. (it helps to sort by extension). Copy this out of the Temporary Internet Files folder to somewhere else where it won't be deleted. Then run this .swf file. An open with.... box should come up. Choose IE and the flash should play normally.

I use Kevin's way as it's dead handy and doesn't require crawling through the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Ah, I love that site!

Are you having trouble finding the name of the flash file? Right click the page and choose "View Source." Look around until you see a .swf file name. Put that into the page path.

I got this one from one of my favorites over at Orisinal:

I tried the method Kevin suggested at orsinal with this file.

The game worked fine when i clicked at the site.
When I saved the target, via right-click, i was ableto download 0sea.swf but it was as wallaro said, just a static frame.

Jason's method is more effective.
The reason may be that the swf is calling form an additional swf or more.

So play each swf in yer tmp internet dir till ya find the right one.
Then make a new folder and paste it in there.
If it doesnt work, play other flashes form tmp internet dir and add the ones that seem connected into that folder till it works.

Not smooth but it works.

I want to save the flash file related to the following address:

I managed to get the *.swf file which is located at

http://www.educaplus.org/movi/swf/componentes.swf

but I just get a blank IE window when I double click on it and I don't understand why. I installed the latest Flash Player and ShockWave Player. It didn't solve the issue. Any ideas?

Back in 2003 time frame, there used to be a FREEware solution to this dilemma called "Flash Extract"!
To this day, I still use this gem of a utility but I guess this Version1.1 is nowhere to be found on the internet any longer!
The "About" information for this utility provides http://www.surfpilot.net/ as the source of the package but I am such a failure that I could not find the program at their site!

The program accomplishes your requirement neatly, and is kinda like an automated version of what Kevin1 and Jason1 are using as work-arounds!

Since I could not locate a source for you to download it from (I swept all of Google for it), I think no one would object if I gave you the following link to download it from (I just uploaded it to RapidShare for you).

It is a 550kByte package and you must temporarily allow scripts to be able to download it from RapidShare!

There are a few other comparable utilities for such endeavors but I am hoping that this would suffice for your needs!

I also have a local copy of MacroMedia FlashPlayer Version6, so that I don't have to rely on an internet browser or DRM-ridden new versions of the player for viewing such *.swf files locally! Just like FlashExtract, you cannot find a copy of FlashPlayer V6 anywhere on the net, either! ' Confused

For Firefox users, there are a few good extensions for downloading flash files. The one I use is UnPlug 1.4.0 (great for downloading YouTube movies too).

Hi everyone,
I tried unsuccessfully to download/save some games from Cartoon Network.
