I am in need of a software that will allow me to password protect any of my usb drives.

Lexar packaged one of their drives with such software, but it only works with that particular drive.

Is there any such software out there.

Hello,

I have not used it myself, but Jetico offers a program called BestCrypt which might meet your needs.

I use TrueCrypt myself: http://www.truecrypt.org/

It will encrypt your drive or any portion thereof and secure it with a password and a key (optional).

Another alternative method would be just to keep the contents in a password protected zip file. You may run into problems if the comp doesnt have any zip software though.

I've used truecrypt and it works great.
