Hello all

i've recently exported files and settings to a new computer. The problem i'm having is with my outlook express. Its downloading all my mail from my mail server from as early as 06. Thats something like 16 thousand messages. Basically its stuff i've deleted from my client that didn't get deleted from the server.

My question is can configure OE 6 to download only the most recent messages, say a week old?

This is the best I can offer, I hope it helps.
I 'm not familiar with OE but in Mozilla Thunderbird there is an option in the account settings that says "Leave messages on server" and an option under that which says "until I delete them." I have both checked and have never had a flood of email from any of the three severs that I connect to.

You're not giving us much information, but if your email server is any kind of decent company you should be able to call them and explain your problem to them and ask them to clear your email box.
If you can't reach them by phone, then go to your mail box via Web-Mail and delete all the files there through the web mail. Don't let them download into your PC.

I've had to do that for many of my customers over the years.
I don't and won't have that problem because I NEVER ask an email server to hold copies of my email. Once I get it, the mail is deleted off of the server.

good luck,
Doc Cool
