|

|
| Does anyone know the exact specs of a Sony Vaio VGN-N50HB or is there some kind of software that doesn't require an internet connection that can help me find out by myself? Need to know which network device is on the motherboard to install it in order to be able to download correct drivers. The motherboard is an Intel 943GML Express. Found this homepage after a quick Google search: ( http://www.vaio.sony.co.jp/Products/N1/spec_retail.html), but it's not detailed enough.
The support page is all in Japanese, hence the question...

Allo Bjorta and welcome to Lockergnome forum
If you can get to this web-site, there's a nifty little utility called 'System Information for Windows' that will analyse and tell you everything about your Sony (or any other PC). It's also free

SIW is an advanced System Information for Windows tool that gathers detailed information about your system properties and settings and displays it in an extremely comprehensible manner.........
Network: Network Cards, Network Shares, currently active Network Connections, Open Ports. |

I run this http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
on all my computers. It gives a profile of the hardware and software, including windows patches on the computer. You can download it and put it on a flash drive (it's now too large to fit on a floppy). You do not have to be on the internet to run it. I also print out the results so when I want to know something about a particular computer, I grab my sheets instead of digging through the Device Manager or Windows Explorer. |

Hello,
Does the wired Ethernet controller work? If so, try hooking the computer up to a network connection and then visiting the Windows Update web site to see if it identifies the missing drivers for the wireless LAN adapter.
Regards,
