Poll Finds Public Support for Health Reform Rising
Quote:
The public’s support for health care reform is rising after a summer slide, according to the latest tracking poll from the non-profit Kaiser Family Foundation. The poll, released today, found that 57% of Americans now believe tackling health care reform is more important than ever, compared with 53% in August.

The poll also found that the public overwhelming supports several provisions that are facing stiff opposition in Congress: 68% of Americans back a mandate that all adult citizens be required to buy insurance, 67% want an employer mandate requiring companies to offer insurance to their employees, and 59% would support “having health insurance companies pay a tax for offering very expensive policies.”

I see the latest CNN poll says that 61% support the Public Option.
In the breakdown it says
47% of republicans support it, while 42% oppose it.

public healthcare option will happen
Quote:
Public option proponents have long cited opinion polls showing voters supported their positions but Harkin and other lawmakers said an ABC News-Washington Post poll issued Tuesday had a noticeable impact.

The survey found that 57 percent of voters back the public option while 40 percent oppose it. In August, the same poll showed support at 52 percent, down from 62 percent in June.

Okay, take a poll of our own.

I oppose it.

Because I am a conservative and in the minority here that means my vote counts as two Wink

i have a tendency to make up my own mind
after gaining as much information as possible

regardless of sway (left or right) from which the information is gandered

that places me in a very reduced minority
so my vote counts as 4 … [/smile]

Well OK Gezzer that works for me but I can't tell what it is exactly you were casting your (4) votes for, in support of a public option, against one, or taking a page from Obama and simply voting "present" Smile

Having a Public health care option is what the majority of US citizens want.
That would be one option amongst many options.

Single payer is what many countries have,
but the corporately brainwashed US public don't want,
and is not being considered.
