Post subject: mailto: links

Hello, folks. I hope I am in the right place. Just as an intro, in case anybody asks why, I had a catastrophic crash on my pc, booted up with an old HDD, bought a new one and made a partition to run windows from, just for the time being ‘til I slipstreamed the latest updates and some personal preferences onto cd’s or maybe try for the first time a DVD. I’m still, after 3 months running the temporary windows partition (!) and haven’t installed Outlook or any other email client. Using my several email addresses from the web, I have become accustomed to this and even when I do my slipstreaming and get back to ‘normal’ I think I’d be quite happy staying that way. I use the latest Firefox and have my Gmail account set up as the default for mailto links. What I would like to know is this- can I keep Gmail as my default for web links, but have email links in other web mail open in the email they were received? Nothing too technical. While I’m pretty good at most things, I am not a programmer nor conversant with HTML or scripting of any kind. Hope this is reasonably clear! Thanks in advance.
