The short answer is to use Firefox or another browser,
and see if you have the same problem.

Firefox will import all your settings and bookmarks.

Get Firefox 3.0.11 in your language here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Can you provide us with the link?

Do you mean the tabs are different colors when you start IE? Or do they cycle through colors? Is anything else happening when the colors change?

What do the errors say?

If you give us a better description of the problem we might be able to help you.

the tabs change colors i found as to signify them being grouped.

but the links to open the other web sites don't work.
its still just going to open the tab and sit and spin.

only way i can get the site to open in a new tab is to copy the link from the page if possible and open the blank tab and paste the link in the address bar and click on go

i 've noticed that the url in that tab that sits and spins is using a redirect url from the page that the clicked on link was in. so it might be the redirect url that is not letting it open the link?

i've found that to be the same on links like the ones for downloading that send you to a page to get the target as in.
clicking on a download link that sends you to go.php page
that won't download the target and it will try and open that page, if it does download it downloads the go.php page and not the target.

so theres lots more crap going on with ie 8 then expected to be on a stable release.

You need to be a little more specific. Can you give us the url for the page that this occurs on? Also can you tell us which links are the problem ones? If I can duplicate the problem then we might be able to offer a solution.

you are very trying on my nerves. Rolling Eyes

but i do not see where you are located so you might be out of the USA in a non English speaking country.

so one more time.

its any web site in any web link in any web page. none of them that are to go to any other site that you are not viewing work.

http://www.msn.com if i was to click that link in this page and tell it to open in a new tab it won't work.

if the web site creator put a link in the page that was to auto send you to another site and you have the browser set to open a new tab for that new site it won't work.

if the web browser is told to open that redirected site in the same browser tab it might or might not work.

it does not matter what site your on. does not matter what site the link is going too. it don't work. i have to copy the URL and paste it in the address bar of the new blank tab that i told the browser to open.

then it will go to that URL.

so it has to be the redirect URL in front of the URL that is the target. that is causing the errors.
Surprised

You mentioned "I.E.8". Go to Add/Remove and try to remove I.E. 8. This will revert you back to I.E. 7. If that works O.K., then try downloading/installing I.E. 8 again. What version of Windows are you using? If XP, have you installed SP3 yet? This has a large bearing on I.E. 7/8!!! Without details, we have no way of helping you!

Hello,

Try opening the web browser as you normally do, then going to Tools -> Internet Options from the main menu bar, then clicking on the General tab. In the top Home Page section, delete all of the addresses listed there. Close the web browser, run it again, go to the web site you would like to set as your home page, go back into the dialog, above, and click on the Use Current button.

Does that solve the problem?

Regards,

No. I'm from the part of the USA where people use capitalization, punctuation, and complete and clear sentences.
