Guys,

Need ur help. I tried to burn excel files on a cd with hyperlink on the files. Everything on the files were burned to the cd, but the hyperlink does not work on the cd.

I appreciate for any recommendations on how to make it work. I tried the microsoft homepage and run some dll on the pc as per instructions on the microsoft web page, but it didn't work either.

Thanks,

Can you tell us what you used for syntax?

Wonsr's link confirmed my suspicion - it appears that you have your paths for your H/L's hard coded. You need to use a variable type of system so that the path can follow the source.

In other words, when you created the H/L's they pointed to a "FIXED" path on your HD. When you burnt them, that path was still to that fixed path. When burnt, that path is still the HD & NOT the CD (or whatever) so it can't find them.

Sorry I can't remember what the syntax is to use - I even re-read the link & still can't remember - The old "use it or lose it" game. But there again I've never really had to do it, just know that you have to.

Hope this at least explains WHAT is happening. Maybe from that you can figure out how to fix your problem.
