First of all let me say I am sadly very computer illiterate but I am trying. Forgive me for my long explaination of my problem.
My windows messenger is messed up. When I last used it they told me to open a live.com account which I did but I can't open Messenger with it. Now my original address and password do not open Messenger even though I opened it again (told me that my address was a reserved domail???). So, I opened it under another address and now it says I need to verify email address by opening their email. Problem is the new address on the Live account is not my main email address. If I add a new address to Outlook Express will I then be allowed to open it. I don't know how to add it and have no idea what my POP and STMP are.
Have I driven you crazy yet? There are probably some steps I missed so I may be back to add them. THANKS!!!!!!!! |

Explain what you mean exactly by messed up.

Again this is extremely confusing...you say the address and password do not open messenger then say you opened it again.

You need to explain why you opened a live account if you do indeed have a main email address - this would mean the mean email address is your preferred email address.
We can't help if we can't follow your post.

every email that allows you to download (like paid yahoo, gmail, gmx...), has directions at the website on exactly what to put into the pop and smtp fields of the email client, in your case, Outlook Express. |

Ditto,,,,,,Ditto and more Ditto.
The world would be a much simpler place if everyone would just use the FREE email accounts offered by Google. That would be, GMAIL.
World Wide Access, FREE, ample storage, works great with Outlook Express and has a very good spam blocker.
I've set up at least three GMail accounts for my customers in the last week and set them up in Outlook Express.
I have the setups memorized, but it's all spelled out in a tutorial at GMail, under Settings, once you have your account opened.
It's a rare occasion............ I don't think I've ever met anyone who actually uses the Windows Messenger. Usually I just delete it completely off of the PC, so it's never going to pop up and run in the background, like it's fond of doing.
Good Luck,
Doc |

Even simpler - if on broadband, do not download email to the computer then you never have to fire up Outlook or Outlook Express. You won't have to compress/compact the email folders and you won't have to try and figure out how to export your address book from one version of a program to another.
Your addressbook and emails are stored on someone else's server and if the computer hd dies, you don't lose your email.
Anything I figure I will need - like registration details and serial numbers for software I pay for, I print the email as well as storing in a saved folder location, off my computer.
I also print out the email addresses so I can visually see all my contacts. |

| In addition to what the good doctor suggested there are other free email options. Yahoo and Hotmail are two of the more popular ones out there. |
