So, zwr, what is your question?

You've dredged up a three year old thread.
Do you have a question about it?

Doc Cool

In retro-spect, when an Outlook Express email file gets too large it can cause problems. Just deleting that file is quick, easy and an efficient way to eliminate problems.
O.E. will just remake the file on it's next run.

Email is NOT saved in a folder like documents are. Email is saved in Indexed Data Base files, like a spreadsheet.
I recently deleted a Sent Items.dbx file that had over 16,000 emails stored in it.
It was preventing O.E. from sending new mail. I just deleted that file and everything came back to normal again.

Cleaning out sent items folders and Deleted Items folders should be a part of a regular PC maintenance routine.

This topic is all about "Outlook Express" not Outlook. Two entirely different programs. So lets stay on topic, even on a three year old thread.

zwr are you spamming us AGAIN?

He/she sure is - all the posts point to the same web site. I've reported this several times.
Any casual readers, DO NOT click on zwr's links. It is a paid program and who knows how safe it is. Always get programs from well known, safe sites.

I thought it was common practice for the Moderators to just BAN the spammers. ?

So, zlim, how's it going? I've not heard from you in ages!

They register under a different nym and post the same links. So the mods/admins have their work cut out for them.

Currently with 7 computers in the house - not my choice...I've been running thither and yon trying to keep them up to date! Two I wouldn't worry about except for the fact that I'm loaning them out to seniors and I want to be sure they are fully patched for everything.
Of course when it rains it pours. My nephew wants to drop off two computers for me to "fix" and I got a call yesterday to look at two computers in one of my seniors homes.

I will be glad when support ends for windows 2000 in July. I can make one final image, pull the computers off the internet and forget about updating. Then I'll see if I can get rid of at least two of them, by pulling out the usable parts and taking the rest to an electronic recycling event. Two are so old and slow, it isn't worth donating.

Boy, do I know about that.
I recently sold two rebuilt PC's to a clothing company to put into their two retail outlets and I still have 9 in the house.
That includes, of course, my new Acer Aspire ONE, netbook.
I was just gifted another one yesterday. It's a very old Dell, professional desktop, with Win-98SE on it. Only 128 meg of ram and a 10 gig HD.
Buy hey.....it runs! It would be great for Solitaire and word processing.

Yes, keeping them all up to date is almost a full time job.
Then you run into the problem of the really old ones not being compatible with the new software.
For instance, a windows 98 PC won't run AVG 8.5. And so it goes.

Y'all have a great day now!
