| Went there - picked out a program I liked - filled out the "offer" box - and that was it! I got the "Driver Genius". Yes free download, free scan, must register it for ($)20 to use it!
Next I tried to d/l a "fix-it" program, after 3 minutes of what was to be a 20 minute d/l (on 16mbps connection), I gave up! Have you tried to d/l anything from this site?

As i understand it this "Advent calendar" offer works like this:
they are highlighting a different product each day in december. On that particular day ( and that day only) you either get a voucher/coupon for a promotional money off or you get the programme for free.
It worked OK for me on 6/12/08 and I got a fully functional copy of FIX IT Express 7 for FREE.
Try this link:
http://web.avanquest.com/special_offers/2008_calendar/calendar.cfm?country_id=3
Remember.....only hit on the offer of the day ( the date/number on the calandar sparkles seasonally!) |

| The Avenquest people have a home web page.......at the bottom note that you can click to be redirected to another country/language. From what I can see the advent calander isn't promoted on the USA page.........and the products on offer each day are different (rotated?) depending on whether you are in the UK, Spanish, German, Italian site etc. |

Hmm When is "Free" not free from cost?
I am not sure if your experience is the same as mine. I "almost" gave up. What I found out was that after the initial "Click here to download" and it asked for email, name, surname . . . there was a long pause. After a few minutes I clicked on the "Click here to download" a second time, and then download window popped up.
Todays Free program is DriverGenius8_UK.exe A driver checked program.
Errr NOT Free .. FREE SCAN and FREE Download but the program (with Discount) is still $14.99 w/o Extended Download period (7.99) and w/o hard media (11.99).
I wonder how it compares to the Freeware Program "Secunia PSI" which checks updates and obsolete programs? http://secunia.com
Secunia PSI is always free for home users.

Nowhere is FREE mentioned on the Avanquest page.
It says 1 Gift or 1 Special Offer Everyday from 1 December to 24 December. |
