| I am having trouble configuring my free zone alarm firewall. It will not let me open any browser except my at&t yahoo browser. I get the web page not found warning on internet explorer and also mozilla.
Any ideas how to solve it?

| Welcome to Lockergnome.
Go into ZoneAlarm->Firewall tab->Program Access tab...look for Internet Explorer and Firefox and make sure those are allowed access. Also make sure Generic Host Process has access as well.

You can also get the page not found error if there is a problem with DNS.
Have you turned off the firewall to be sure that it is the problem? |

Thanks for reply, yes I tried to look for this IE is checked to be allowed in zone alarm, firefox is not listed in it.
When I turn it off, I can get in IE, but not when it is on. |

DNS stands for domain name server. Basically what this does is take something like "lockergnome" and lookup the four digit address and then takes you to the lockergnome page. If the ISP has an improper location for "lockergnome" you get a page not found.
Open Zone Alarm and delete the browser entries there. Now fire up FF and you should get a popup asking if you want to allow internet access. If you do not get a popup, something is not right with ZA. What version of the free firewall are you running? Also, what version of windows are you running? |

| If you are in XP, try Program Access and Defaults and change settings for your configuration. |
