Is this what you need?

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

It's got all languages for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux i686 downloads.

If you want to use the spell checking utility in a different language than English-US,
you will want to download the appropriate language dictionary from here.

I see there are four different English dictionaries at this time.

Thanks for all the help.

It was a wasted time though, there were about 12 conflicts or more.

In linux, if an app you want isn't a package in the repository, chances are it isn't ready for prime time and it is better to just wait it out until the wrinkles are ironed out.

Have a look here Mike. What looks like a valid rpm is first on the list (but you may have tried that since you mentioned conflicts).

Installing the binary from the Mozilla site isn't difficult as it does not need compiling.

What I did first was find the folder my current Firefox 1.5 binary was located in (for me it was /usr/lib/mozilla, but it may be different on your system) & rename it to "firefox.v1.5".

I then extracted the Firefox2 tar.gz file in my home directory, renamed the sub-folder "firefox" to "mozilla", and moved the mozilla folder & everything in it across to /usr/lib/. So now /usr/lib/mozilla/ has Firefox v2 in it.

After that I went to my old "firefox.v1.5" folder in /usr/lib/, and copied the "plugins" directory across to the new mozilla directory. The "plugins" directory contains things such as flashplayer & java, & it's easier to copy across than to have to reinstall those plugins.

Hey Presto - when I next launched Firefox, Firefox 2 loaded without a problem (aside from the fact that half my add-ons weren't compatible - but that's another story).

This rpm is for SuSE 10.0: MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-20.1.i586.rpm.

There's a bit of advice here: Mozilla Firefox 2.0 SUSE / openSUSE RPM's (2).

You can see the link in the address bar and my screenshot which on my computer only shows 1.5

Error: image could not be loaded. Image is not available from server

Image URL: http://star.walagata.com/w/perk/LG_links/fflink.jpg

Strange how we don't see the same thing.

If you look closely at this image, you will see another link 'All Systems and Languages'. My guess is that if you click that, you will see what the rest of us see. I do not know why the page displays differently for you other than the possibility that Firefox 1.5 renders pages differently from Firefox 2.x?

HTH,

ernie, the computer I posted the above image from is running FF2 not 1.5 so I have no idea why I'm seeing something different than everyone else.

That is really odd.

I just rechecked mommabear's original link and still see the same site as I did before.

Same link, different sites.. ??

I too was curious and fired up a different computer but same OS 2K and same browser FF2. I see a slightly different picture than I posted - all the other versions are actually listed but at the bottom it still says 1.5.

Mine says the same

Quote:
Firefox 1.5: This version of Firefox will be supported until April 24, 2007 with security and stability updates. We strongly encourage all users to upgrade to Firefox 2.

Unsupported versions of Firefox for other platforms are also available.

Archived versions of previous Firefox releases are also available.

at the bottom.

It may be that the link was not fully loaded when you did your screen shot...perhaps ?

No; it probably has to do with some filtering because the computer that shows more on that page operates at 1GHz, while the computer I took my screenshot from operates at 2.4GHz so I'm sure the page was loaded when I snapped the screenshot. In any case, I don't see v2 listed anywhere.
