Only $99 Smile not bad

Q: Is this conference family-friendly?

A: It's recommended that anybody below the age of 18 go to Disneyland instead.

Um.. age limit of 18?

I have never been to one, where is it located?(I'm guessing Iowa) Is there a flight discount? Very Happy

Unfortunately (for me at least) it's not in Iowa this year. The FAQ page says it's in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I'd guess the age limit has to do with the alcohol theme and it being at Harrah's.

Well I missed 1,2 and 3 so I see no reason to end the trend. I will read about the aftermath.

I've attended Gnomedex in the past, including the very first but I doubt I'll be attending this year. It seems as though there is more mention of the conference being about alcohol and it being held at a casino than mention of it actually being a technology conference. I've enjoyed Gnomedex in the past but why is it that it now has to be all about drinking? And what's this about it being an hour away from a major airport, and even then it's just Reno. The only way out there I'm assuming, other than a very expensive taxi ride, is a ride on the "party bus." No thanks. It's really went downhill this year.

Even though I'm only 16 and deffinitly don't know half as much about IT as you guys do, Gnomdex looks like something I will deffinitly make plans to attend in the future. Very Happy And just because I'm 16 doesn't mean that I can't be a nerd. I know more than average about computers for someone my age I would think.

Perhaps you should look to next year, this year there is a minimum age requirement. It being at a casino and being an alcoholics conference there is no room for anyone of your age. What happened to the Lockergnome of 2 or 3 years ago, I hardly knew ye.

Well count me in. Just bought our tickets the other day. Will there be a night before meet and greet at a local establishment? That was definitely a tradition worth not loosing. Just got a new car for the trip out. Someone tell Toyota to get more Prius out the door. Wanted one so bad.

3.0 was definitely worth it. Would have been nice if the show had stayed in Des Moine as a central location. Especially since I now have some friends living there. But such is life I guess. Hopefully the lineup for 4.0 will be worth the drive and money.
