Not sure if this is the right forum for this but I'm sure someone will move it if it's not Very Happy

Is it just me or has the Spam problem gotten worse???

I used to get, maybe, 100 or so a day. Now I'm getting upwards of 300 a day! Mad

I use Mailwasher Pro so I can mark and delete them before they get to the inbox but it's taking so much more time to mark them all now!!!

I'm really getting tired of being told I can get a bigger organ with these pills, considering I'm a girl!!! Or cheap Rolex? watches!

I also know that some of it's my fault as I do enter a lot of online contests. I have a separate email specifically for them and that's the one that's really bad.

I'm in Canada and our government hasn't bothered to do a Can Spam act like the U.S. has. I wish they'd do something!

Also, I have one email that is only known by my ISP, I don't use it for anything except conversations with them. This email is also getting spammed at about 50 give or take a day. How is this possible since no one has it but them?

I have run virus and spyware scans and I don't have any problems.

I guess I'm not really asking for help, just somewhere to vent Smile Unless someone has a solution?!

Allo Wenbo

My usual trick is to set up a couple of Googlemail accounts and use those for my 'public' surfing. Googlemail has excellent spam-filters and can be configured to forward the remaining mails to your private ISP, or any other, account.

As to your ISP e-mail account. Spammers will launch their stuff to hit
range-of-names DeleteThis @well-known-isp.com
and even common patterns of letters or words.
It's all generated and dispatched by hijacked computers so they can spread their sh** as widely as possible.

One thing I've noticed with my Googlemail account is that an account that's 'name.name@googleblah' gets a heck of a lot more spam than an account that's just 'name@googleblah'. (The spam gets filtered to a 'Junk' folder', so you can have a looksee to make certain there's no legitimate mail accidentally filtered out)

The spammers don't seem to have caught on about single-name accounts
