From American football to English football, cricket to chess; if it's sports, it's being discussed here.

I play chess and it is a board game. I would not ever consider it a sport. Idea

This could greatly increase my interest in the competition of chess:

Maybe I was wrong. Chess could be sport after all!

Indeed but it still is not a sport.

Hmm!
I just noticed this thread.
It sort of makes me think, What is Sport?
To some people Sport includes slaughtering furry animals ( preferably from the back of a horse). To others it's driving round in circles very fast. Another bunch think it's two people in a canvas rectangle knocking seven kinds of Sh** out of each other.
So why not chess?

And at the moment in the UK the BBC Sport presenters are showing a lot of Snooker. I.e. two grown men standing around a table and rolling coloured balls across it.
