I can generalize what it will encompass, but is there somewhere to get the gist of last year's? Or what to expect from this year's?

Ok, I have never been to any kind of convention and so I am trying to figure out what goes on and what I get out of it. (not to sound selfish...what's in it for me Very Happy )

I am a one man IT shop here at work. I do everything from Windows to Linux admin, web design and application dev, and all the way to my printer is out of toner.

I understand that there are speakers, but speaking on what? For a two day thing, what else is going on that I can benefit from besides the speakings? People say they had a blast, but doing what? I guess as someone who really doesn't know anyone else I would hate to come down and get stuck in a corner with my laptop.

So does anyone have a sample itinerary from last year? Maybe they can elaborate on what was at gnomedex that they directly benefited from? If I can build up enough of a case maybe I can talk the boss into footing some of the bill as well. B)

Thanks for the info.

At least you'll have a laptop to keep you company in the corner...

A little long winded, but here was my thoughts on the show, and here is my web album of pics(rough ones, be warned) of the show. There was so much going on, inside and outside of the show, that I will likely go through withdrawal if I miss this year. I am very serious.
