Hi I have a an issue with my laptop when I boot the laptop it goes to two options one is f1 and f2 enter setup or something like that when i press any of them i'm asked for a password its just a black screen and i have three attempts after i put any passwords a message comes up and that says that the password is incorrect and the bios goes to default and computer boots up normal. I thought that the password is bios pass so I followed the instructions took out the motherboard battery kept it out for an hour more then I put it back in and the bios had reset but the password didn't. I tried to use bios320 to hack it but no luck. The problem is that i don't really know what kind of password is it. The laptop make is ASUS F5N series win 7 original windows Win wista 32. Plus the date changes to 2008... ewery time I restart the laptop... do any one have any solution's ??

When you took out the little coin type battery, did you also remove ALL other power from the laptop. that is, did you take out the power cord and the big main battery, so there was absolutely NO power anywhere on the laptop???

You must do that to reset the CMOS chip.

The time not being retained, is the first telltale sign that the little coin type battery is bad.
Did you by any chance, test it while you had it out?
If tested with a digital volt meter, it must be at 3.0vdc or better or it needs to be changed.

Good Luck,

Yap I took the laptops battery out and plugged it out of the power supply. There is no other way to take the motherboard battery out I had to take the entire laptop apart... I'll try to check the battery maybe it is dead... Is that password a bios password ? or something else?

If the password thingy comes up before Windows then it's Bios.
It it comes up after windows starts to load, like at the Login Screen, then it's the Windows password, which is easy enough to remove.
Neither one is insurmountable, for a computer tech.
I could get rid of either one in just a few minutes.

So which is it?
