Trying to get my pc a working, Im guessing graphics card but thought i would run it by the experts.
Im getting one long beep then about 5 seconds will pass then another long beep. This will continue on till i shut pc down.
I have put a new battery on board, I have tested my PSU. Are there other area's that I am missing. I have looked at the mother boards website at their beep codes but it doesn't list my problem that i can see. What am i overlooking.

1.AWARD BIOS 1short beep :System normal 2 short beep :CMOS Error 1 long beep and 1 short beep:Memory error 1 long beep and 2 short beep:Graphic card error 1 long beep and 3 short beep :AGP error 1 long beep and 9 short beep :Memory Error Continuous long beep :Memory not correctly installed Continuous short beep :Power supply unit failed 2.AMI BIOS 1 short beep :Memory Error 2 short beep:Memory parity check error. 3 short beep :basic memory 64K address check error 4 short beep :Real Time Clock malfunction . 5 short beep :CPU error 6 short beep:Keyboard error 7 short beep :CPU interruption error 8 short beep:Graphic card error 9 short beep :Memory error 10 short beep :CMOS error 11 short beep :CPU cache memory malfunction

I am no longer getting the one long beep. pulling cards and memory and reinserting them has given what sounds like a proper post beep, but I still have nothing on monitor. I am still guessing and really hoping that only my graphics card gave out.

Have you tried unplugging the power supply and removing the motherboard battery for a half hour or so? Not knowing what motherboard you have, if it has onboard video, you can also remove the video card and then install the battery & power, and get into the bios - setting it to defaults to try & boot the computer. Without more info on your hardware, there's not much else to suggest. Hope this helps some.

I unplugged everything for 30 or so minutes. I still have nothing on monitor. Guess I will buy a basic graphics card and see what that will do for pc.

Thanks again

Hello,

What brands and models of motherboard, video card and monitor are in the computer?

Regards,

Gigabyte 7n400pro2.......Nvidia 8x card.......Acer flat monitor
I have been shopping around and seeing the prices of the new 8x graphics cards, what use to be a 25 dollar card is now a whoppin 100 dollars. It's cheaper to upgrade in the long run i guess. I need to hit the flee markets for a cheap deal.
