a few days ago i installed this belkin router to my desktop. i have a cable connection to my desktop and use a laptop throughout the house on the wireless network. after some calls to customer support everything seemed to work out fine. though, now i'm noticing that the desktop will lose connection to the server, but the laptop will remain connected. how is this possible if the router is connected to the cable modem? i've called customer support and their solution is to unplug the modem and router and reset. this does solve the problem initially, but i really don't want to have to unplug and replug wires daily to keep my internet access going.

any advice on how to really fix this issue? please?

Take the Belkin back to the store and get another brand. If you look through help forums all over the net you'll find complaints that their products have problems staying connected on a consistent basis.
Personally I've given up on all their stuff.
I had a Belkin notebook wireless card, well I still have it somewhere, and it just wouldn't stay connected. I got another card, a really cheap brand, and it never dropped connection, ever.
The only thing that changed was the card. Before I changed out the card I looked for fixes and found out about their problems.
