In Vista, there exists Windows Photo Gallery which is a program to view .jpg files and others. I like many of the features, but it shows all of my pics with a yellow cast. No other picture viewers show this yellow cast so I am sure the problem is not with my cameras.

I can find no way to turn this coloration off or modify it. I suspect there may be a registry switch, but have not yet found it. I think the yellow color is on by default in an effort to make pictures "warm" but I hate it.

Any solutions? I have been using other viewers, but, as I said, I like some of the features of Photo Gallery.

Thanks. But the step by step guide, and the second reference both refer to how I can modify my pictures in the program. I don't want to modify my pictures. They look perfect with every other viewer. If I modify my pictures to look good in the viewer, They look terrible in every other viewing program, and in picture frames, etc.

I want to modify how the program works, that is, to get rid of the yellow cast, and none of those references (that I have been able to find) tells me how to do that.

An interrogative:

If you don't like the way the program works, why don't you just stop using it?
I don't........................I only use "Photo Filtre" a free program, for all my photo editing, resizing, etc.
I've never found any program that's so quick and easy to use.
I even use it for Screen Captures.
It's easiest to use when I put the shortcut to it in my Quick Launch Toolbar.

I install Photo Filtre for many of my customers who have digital cameras and want some program to manipulate their photos.
Did I mention, Photo Filtre is FREE?

Well, I have. But let me explain a bit more clearly. I use Photoshop for my heavy duty editing. I like/need a program to simply display pics in a folder, and do it quickly, and be able to move between pics by pressing a keyboard key. It is also nice if the display program allows for variable magnification and scrolling. The Windows Photo Gallery program in question does all that, but displays pics with a yellow cast that is not in the picture itself. I was looking for a possible registry entry that would remove the yellow cast so I could use the rapid display functionality of the program that I like. Such a thing does not seem to exist, so I stopped using the program for quick display or any other purpose.

I gotcha!

Years ago, a friend gave me an install of ACDSee, photo manager program.
It did what you said,,,,, give you a quick and easy way to look at photos and manage them on the HD. It's GUI looked almost exactly like Windows Explorer.
Where you could rename or delete files or move them to different folders.
You could even set up a Slide Show to go through an entire folder of pictures.

I can't remember now, when or why I stopped using it.
But I know I've not had it on my PC for quite some time now.
It was a file manager and not a photo editor.

Good Luck,
