are learning simple movements
necessary for driving a car, such as moving the gear stick
and holding a steering wheel.
The canine pupils have already put their skills to the test
behind the wheel of a practice car, with a trainer on hand
in the passenger seat to help with the steering.
Animal trainer Mark Vette said “There’s no excuses.
We’ve got to get in there and show that dogs can drive cars.
It’ll be ‘dial-a-dog’ the week after this.”
The dogs are being taught to start a car, accelerate and steer.
