Vista on my laptop is stuck at the welcome screen. Restarted into safe mode and got the BSOD.

Heres the error: Stop: 0x000000F4 (0x000000003,0x86F44D90, 0x8FDB8CD4, 0x00000000)

win32k sys-address 8FDB8CD4 base at 8FC00000, date stamp 46d4163

It hasn't been used in about a week, i dunno wuts up. I can't reinstall my OS cause I had it pre installed and didn't get any discs.

I've tried safe mode with CMD and same error. Tried last known good config, same thing happens, I've tried fixing it and nothing works.

Its a new one too.

Did you check to see if it has a hidden second partition that might have the restore files? Boot up the computer and see if it displays an option (key to press) to enter some recovery/restore partition.

Contact the company you bought it from. It should be under warranty. Either have them take it back or send you a Vista CD so you can scan for errors or reinstall the OS if needed.

Hello,

Was there any more to the message than that? Usually a stop error displays a message about the type of error that occurred, such as "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" or "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED". Was any such message displayed when the error occurred on your new notebook computer?

Without knowing the additional information it is difficult to troubleshoot this error, but you could try removing the various customer accessible parts, such as the batteries, drives, memory and so forth, reseating them and then applying power to the system. If the problem was due to a loose hardware connection, that could solve it.

Regards,
