I replied to the first abusive message in fairly moderate terms.
Below is their response and below that the message that prompted it.
Do you want to buy from these guys?

Thanks for posting that... I will remember to tell people on forums looking for fax software to avoid RKS sales like the plague.
If they are too busy to offer a modicum of customer support, we can make sure that they have fewer customers!
Addresses for the company
4600 W 77th St Ste 188, Minneapolis, MN 55435-4903
149 E Alameda St, Santa Fe, NM 87501-2117
11113 Ridgeway St Ste 113, Philadelphia, PA 19116-2751
I suspect there are tons of branches.
Were you dealing with someone in the US? |

Just the online sales people. I'm sure it was the USA, by the particualr choice of abusive language.
The thing is;
It was a genuine inquiry. I've used the XP version for some years, paid for, even though XP actually has a perfectly good fax engine.
But since I can't use that , and I can't just use built in software with Vista Home's total lack of FAX support , I wanted to know if they did an upgrade deal, so I e-mailed them.
A small discount would have sealed the deal. Even a polite refusal would probably have received a sale, eventually.
But after that treatment, no chance. |

In the most general terms......any "Home" version of any OS from Microshaft, is a raped, ripped and trimmed version of the "Real thing".
NO WAY Jose! I won't have it.
They just leave out too much in the way of features and functionality.
I wonder if Windows FAX could be transplanted from a Vista Ultimate box to a Vista Home box.
If that was possible, I'll bet you could find someone that would be glad to zip it up and send it to you.
Cheers mate!

If it was as simple as that, younger daughter ( still has XP on her machine.
But Windows software needs to be "installed".
I've found SnappyFax, (same price) which works well and the supplier is really helpful.
(Which he has to be, since I've hit technical problems on the hardware front.)
