Hi,

I have a problem with Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 which I could use some advise on

As part of my job I need to give Powerpoint presentations which contain short video clips. The clips came from a range of sources and are in a mixture of formats. They are a mixture of colour and monochrome, mostly silent but a few with audio.

I have a standard presentation which I inherited from a colleague. This was created in an earlier version of Powerpoint and all of the video clips worked correctly.

Then our IT department upgraded everybody to Powerpoint 2003 and windows XP Pro. After the “upgrade” some of the video clips don’t play correctly within the presentation.

The presentation is way out of date, so I need to perform a major update on the file. I’m planning to go back to the original video tapes and files, re-capture the video, re-edit them and convert them all to some standard format for importing into Powerpoint. The question is which format to use?

I’d like the files to be relatively future proof as I’d prefer not to have to repeat the process in a year or so when the IT department make everybody upgrade to the next version of Office (whether we want to or not!).

So, which video format would Gnomies suggest and which codec(s)?

Thanks in advance

Tony

I have used the MS PowerPoint Producer for PowerPoint 2003 to do many of my presentation projects.

It is free from Microsoft and you can check it out on: http://tinyurl.com/3t4oz You can download and also send for the CD with free delivery too as I remember.

Hope this helps. Jimmc 56
