I have installed an ECS C51GM mobo, and I'm trying to find out if there are
drivers available newer than what I downloaded from the ECS site. It appears there are newer drivers available from nvidia, but on their website confusion reigns. I was told to DL their 'BIOS AGENT' utility to update my drivers. This pgm tells me there are 3 or 4 of the drivers needing updates, but following their prompts leads to -surprise!- they want me to purchase their software. I ain't about to spring for their 'product'. There should be a way to obtain the updates free of cost; this i believe. I have spent a few hours so far chasing this stuff down, and all I have gotten for my troubles is a huge DL that turns out to be the same drivers I already have. I'm tired of wasting my valuable time being jerked around by these greedheads. Any clues would be appreciated.

Hello,

The specifications for the Elitegroup Computer Systems' C51GM-M (V1.0) specifies the following components:

I did a quick search for the the latest Microsoft Windows XP device drivers for each component and found the following:

I could not find a driver for the Broadcom AC131 network interface on Broadcom's web site, so I would suggest installing the one from ECS and then visiting the Windows Update web site to see if a newer driver is available.

go to windows update.

then go to the left hand frame and click on the link for microsoft update home.

use it. click on custom button,

it will find needed nvidia drivers for your system and download them for you.

or you can go to majorgeeks.com look for nvidia drivers and look for the one that matches your card and is wqhl signed by microsoft and download and install them.

i got other cards now on these computers but the dell i have nvidia card in it. and do not use the 410 drivers microsoft keeps telling me to get, because i downloaded newer ones from majorgeeks.com and use them.

Cool
