|
|
I purchased WordPerfect 12 a couple of years ago and installed it recently into my new Vista Computer. In the meantime 3 patches have been posted on Corel's web site, so I tried to install them on the newly installed (from the original CD) program. They would not install, claiming I had to have a PIN given to me after the initial registration. I never received a PIN so I posted a request on the Corel website - the answer came back (of course "automated") that WordPerfect12 is no longer supported - is now a legacy program - and support is denied.
Is there anybody who could help me? Hans-Heinz |

Ummmmmm!
If you just look around, you can probably find an Acedemic Version that will need no pins, keys or otherwise.
Don't worry about the updates if the program still works. Just enjoy it !!!
I've been using WordPerfect 8 for years with NO updates and it still works just fine.
Happy Holidays,

I'm assuming (yeah, I know) that since you are using wordperfect, that M$'s stuff is out of the question. So if you can't get what you want with wordperfect, check out OPENOFFICE. - FREE & works pretty good. (It IS available for windows as well as other OS's, so watch what you choose to download)

| Thank you both for the incredibly fast replies. And so be it, I enjoy what I have. I still like it. (I started with the DOS version of WPerfect 4 a long time ago.) |

[Corrected version number. AG]
Hello,
I found Service Pack 3 for WordPerfect 12 available for download in English here on Corel's web site. The German version can be found here on Corel's web site.
I tried downloading the English language patch and had no trouble doing so using Internet Explorer 7 under Microsoft Windows Vista.
Regards,
Aryeh Goretsky

ME TOO! And I've loved Word Perfect ever since.
More recently I got an Academic version of WP8 and loved it.
Then when I tried WP9, I found out that they had totally screwed up the envelope printer routine, so I went back to WP8 and I've used only that for my word processing ever since. If there were ever any updates, I don't know about them, and actually I couldn't care less.
WP8 works just as well on Vista Ultimate as it ever has on 98, ME, XP or what-not.
Enjoy!
