Hi.
I have the following programs preinstalled on my PC when purchased about a year ago. I have never used them. Do I need them, if not how do I uninstall them as they do not show up in Add/Remove programs

Microsoft Visual Studio - Movie Maker - MS Build

Windows Calender - collaboration - Defender - Journal

Regards.

Hello,

Which version and edition of Microsoft Windows are you running?

Do you have two programs on your computer, respectively named:
  1. Microsoft Visual Studio - Movie Maker - MS Build
  2. Windows Calender - collaboration - Defender - Journal

Or, do you mean seven different programs, respectively named:
  1. Microsoft Visual Studio
  2. Movie Maker
  3. MS Build
  4. Windows Calendar
  5. collaboration
  6. Defender
  7. Journal

Knowing exactly what is installed on the computer will help in understanding what can be uninstalled.

If they are NOT in Add/Remove programs, then they are internal programs, also called SYSTEM programs and not External or user installed programs.
They are actually a part of the OS.

Leave them alone.

Concentrate on getting rid of all the games, trials and demo's that come with a new PC.
Most importantly, get rid of Norton or McAfee if it came pre-installed.
Both companies supply "Removal Tools" to aid in the process of eliminating their software.

One program that I use a lot when setting up a new PC is the "Decrapifier".
It can remove most all of the junk programs put on a new PC by the manufacturer.

Good Luck!
