| I presently dual boot Windows and Ubuntu. I want to install Ubuntu AMD 64. Do I have to remove the old Ubuntu or can I install over it? If so how do I remove the old program?

| you can install over the 32bit system but you could also install the 64bit on a partition and use the swap/home that is already there
if you are thinking of going 64bit only then a new install would be best …
