Who knows anything about Thunderbird? I`ve suddenly "lost" all my mails in the inbox - blank, nothing! "Sent" and "deleted" boxes are intact. New messages come in OK. Luckily, I`ve always made a point of saving important stuff but it would be nice to recover the whole lot, if possible. I`ve gone through the recommendations on the Mozilla site and they still won't come back. Some suggestions include making a new profile but that presumably means starting from scratch and I have a lot of mail accounts, RSS feeds, add-ons, etc; to re-instate, if that is the case. Anything more simple, folks?

--- I think you can just skip this & go to my next post - use this for reference---

I'm on my linux box (& can't get to XP) at the moment so this path MAY not be exact but should be close as I recall.

Try going to;
THUNDERBIRD>something.DEFAULT>MAIL>LOCAL FOLDER>INBOX

--- Where "something" will be some text.--- (you may have to search for the TB folder to start) (a search for INBOX may find it also - or get you onto the area where it is if the path is not right)

Look at the INBOX with notepad (this may take a while to load depending on the amount of info in it. See if this is the one you are looking for. You MAY have to look at other files in the LOCAL FOLDER area to find the one you want (if you still have it) (not sure but it MAY have an extension of some sort - backup)

Since it has been a while since I last messed with this I'm not sure what you will have to do to hook it back so check the TB site for this. But my hunch is that you just lost the pointer to the file & need to re-create it.

Hope this helps - please let me know. - once you determine if you still have it we can go from there if you still need help.

Not sure of what ver. of TB you are using, I assumed 2 but even though this link is for ver. 1, it may still work.

Same thing here too, although I don't see what ver. it pertains to. I assume all. So should work.
