First off, a dedicated forum is a great idea.

I use BlogLines as my aggregator, because recent changes in my employment have made it nearly impossible to obtain the Admin rights needed to install a thick client on the desktops I use (such is the life in DoD).

Is anyone using any other thin reader? If so, how does it compare to Bloglines?

There are a bunch of them -- different web based ones -- I'll try and get a link up to them.

You might also want to look at the Firebird RSS Reader Panel -- its a Firebird extension and only 10.7K in size. That's pretty thin (but it requires Firebird).

I use Newsisfree.com myself, which is great. Plus, you even have the ability to save collections of feeds as a page and provide the page to the public, without a login. Plus, they provide scraped feeds for a bunch of sources that just aren't available elsewhere. I see it mentioned as a source for locating feeds all the time.

The aggregator clients sound so good, I wish I could use them, but I am a computer nomad - I use up to 5 computers a day at work, plus my home system, and a web-based aggregator is just the way to go for a situation like that. Newisfree can highlight the articles I've already read so I don't keep repaeting myself when I move to a new system.

I try to recommend it to library users (I'm a librarian), but no one knows what RSS is, and it's not easy to explain to the barely computer-literate.
