I just found these links posted on MSDN (courtesy of Freeware-Guide):

Process Monitor: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/processesandthreads/proc...monitor

RegMon: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/regmon.mspx

I downloaded the package and unpacked it to a desktop folder.

Now what?

What utils in that package did you find useful? Confused

As far as I'm aware, none of them require installation - you just run the .exe file.

I haven't used Windows for a while now, but I did find Process Explorer very useful if I was trying to find processes which were using up an unusual amount of CPU.

Hello,

I have used various utilities from SysInternals in the past. For example, I have used Regmon to help identify where a VPN program I was testing was pulling information from out of the registry to identify the host it was running on and have used Process Explorer to identify a conflict between a file and settings backup, system inventory and update agents.

While these are not things I do every day, it is nice to have tools like these available when I need them (which, for me, is probably 2-3 times a month).

Regards
