| We're offering a specific forum for those of us who want to get more out of our office suites. No matter which suite you use, no matter what platform it runs on, there are tricks and tips to share and questions needing solutions.
Need advice on putting together a dynamic Power Point presentation for work? Need help getting Mozilla Mail set up? Trying to figure out where to start with Open Office Draw? Will Lotus Suite meet your needs?
Ask your questions and share your wisdom in Office applications.

Please remind me to stay way away from that new LG::Forums section!
It would consume even more time then I presently spend in this unrewarding place!
I am also thinking that such assistance will probably be {mainly} for those who use Office® products in a work related function.
I don't do FREE for those who are attempting to be productive in a profe$$ional capacity!
Cha-Chink!
May I ask what has transpired to be forced to come up with such a new sub-forum? |

A member request and the realization that while most users deal with one office suite or another almost daily, many do not know how to use them or get the most from them.

Too bad you feel that way. Fortunately, it's not a common attitude here. |

This is exactly what I mean by "unrewarding"!
FWIW, take a look at the number of posts I have started here and then take a look at how many people have read them (over 125000 reads) and then look a little deeper and see how many times I have asked for help!
Then, take a look at this little critter that first urges me to leave and then worries about me by warning me NOT to let the door hit me in the butt!
QED and non sequitur!
No really, I don't mind!
Shallow pools for shallow people!

with 125,000 reads. I find that interesting to say the least. You mean the type of help you give when you tell someone to hit the help key??

To some that can be taken as a threat. :whistling: :whistling:

I visit the LG forums in my spare time and lend some help/advice/tips when I see opportunity. I am a huge proponent of LG users helping other LG users. The assistance is often reciprocated among LG users. I have appreciated the help/tips/advice that I've received from many of the users on this forum. I enjoy giving back to the LG community when I have the time and knowledge to do so.
To solve mission critical Office application problems in the workplace, I would recommend users first utilize the help function of the particular application. Second, I would recommend users do a Google search. Third, I would recommend users go to their "GURU" in their workplace. Every workplace seems to have an Excel guru, a Word guru, etc. Fourth (or maybe fifth or sixth), I would recommend LG forum users post their unique Office application problem/question to the LG forums. The advice given in these forums often comes from "experts" in the particular areas, but the timeliness of it depends upon the users having spare time to post their advice/expertise.
Just my 2 cents,
Matt |

I'm late to this topic.
But, FWIW
Not everyone has access to an IT pro, or is using Office at work, or working in their own business.
There are still plenty of us who have Office at home, legally, because we've bought it or been given it under our employers' license. There are plenty who use Office at home because they are writing the Great Novel, or the thesis.
There are plenty who work in non-profit organisations, paid or voluntary, or small schools, with no budget for IT support and have to do their own IT stuff. Or simply have to get their jobs done in organisations that have technicians to do repairs, but no one who undestands how they work and need to use the software, so they do that bit themselves.
I think I qualify under most, maybe all, of these. |
