......first off, thx Fastway for your reply on this matter & sorry if i didn't get back on this, sooner : . . . . . . did not notice this untill after some time of after the window's updates & SP2......someone told me that those driver's were suppose to be in the SP2.......so, I have just now tried to reinstall SP2, and still get the same result's.......
i am just wondering if i should start to "UN-install" each and every one of those window's updates :hmm: and see if one of those IS the culprit??? But, if I do end up doing so, and at the end = nothing has changed.... Surprised ....then would i be better off reinstalling all updates, or go through the WHOLE process of another reinstall of the OS again in less that a month.... <_< ... [ i have just yesterday, did the activation of this XP which had like 3 day's to go: see that's how long it's been for this reinstall of..... Sad ] but i know for a fact that after the reinstall of, i had SP1a; and then had a bunch of pictures i was looking at from my digital camera, and this was all working fine for then couple of weeks ago...... ...sure wish this was one of those simle dumb fixes for my ignorce of..... :whistling:

Hello,

Are there any USB peripherals at all already plugged into your computer when this problem occurs, such as a keyboard, mouse or printer? If so, does removing the device(s) before starting the computer (you'll want to plug in a PS/2 keyboard or mouse if it was a USB version of these devices you removed) and then plugging in the USB accessory still cause this message to appear?

Also, are you plugging the device directly into the USB connectors on your computer's motherboard, or into a PCI expansion card or hub?

Regards,

Hello,

I noted in your screen shots that your printer has a memory card reader built into it. If you place a memory card into the slot on the printer, attach it to the computer via the USB port and then power up the system, are you then able to plug in and use other USB peripherals afterwards?

. . . again, thx Goretsky; and all other's who have tried to help me with this prob, BUT>>>> i think i have gotten this system repaired, now: what i did was shut all down...completely, and disconnected the pwr spply_plug ; then commence to disconnect all and any usb device's attached....( ak: printer, scanner, USB mouse..and replaced with PS/2 for time being,....etc...etc.......ANYTHING usb >>>disconnect) ; then also disconnected from the " nic " card... any LAN/WAN connection disconnected; then, connected back up PSU and powered up and made sure of cleaned out prior to defragg......rebooted after that was completed..... .....then back on the OS did an "reInstall" of SP2.... :whistling: .....Once this was completed and all, rebooted and " WaaaaLahhh ! ! ! all the usb slot's ( front or back ) now work with no prob's or error's! ! ! ! ....... :w00t: Very Happy .......commenced to shut down completely and reconnected other periph's, (usb)...but one by one.........and tested at the same time with pen drive.... :w00t: ......now all is complete & all working fine and dandy........ :w00t-x100:  :harhar: . . . . . . again thx to you other's out there that tried and gave help/suggestion's/comment's of, to help me out ; i hope my "fix" for here will help with other's out there with this such "headache-of-an ordeal"....... Razz
