Recently Virusheat 4.3 installed itself onto my computer and it has been causing me quite a bit of grief. I think I got rid of most of its components, deleting it from the registry, system 32, and my program files folder. I initially used add/remove programs to get rid of it and then did the rest manually. I did this through safe mode because initially my computer would immidiatly restart itself after boot up. Now my problem is just that, unless I'm operating in safe mode, my computer reboots itself almost instantly. The STOP error I'm receiving is:

0x000000F7

It gives me the same 0xF7: DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER error each time. I tried using trusted online spyware, virus, etc. scans in safemode to get rid of any of that junk that would be on my computer. Whenever I try to scan during safemode my computer again restarts itself. Oh, and I've tried using system restore, that didn't work either.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Allo bqalin Smile

The first thing you need to do is either right-click the 'My Computer' icon then select 'Properties' or, from the Start Menu - Settings - Control Panel - System, either will bring you to the same box.

When the box appears, click the 'Advanced' tab along the top, then near the bottom of the box is an area marked 'Startup and Recovery', click the 'Settings' button. Near the bottom of the next screen is an area called 'System Failure', untick the box marked 'Automatically Restart', then OK everything back to the desktop. That will stop the PC from restarting itself, when it decides to go 'belly up'.

I Googled the Stop error code and it would appear to be one of your hardware drivers has gone weird, possibly the hard-drive controller. If you repeat the above steps, but instead of clicking the 'Advanced' tab, click the 'Hardware' tab, then the 'Device Manager button.

Check for any yellow triangles or red blobs next to any of the entries.

Thanks for posting back that it's fixed, it'll save me getting splinters in my fingertips from too much head-scratching Wink

It's worth stopping the 'Auto-Reboot' feature though, it'll help diagnose any future problems that might arise Very Happy
