Hi ya'll,
My brother-in-law has been given an Emachine with Altec lansing speakers with a subwoofer.I got the pc running for him (he's 100% computer illiterate) but having problems with the speakers.Sound seems to come from only one of the speakers and very low volume.I will try plain speakers to see if they work. He is hard of hearing so needs the volume.

The problem turned out to be the weird way the speakers had to be turned on.Two buttons pushed down at the same time.
