When I ran memtest-86 on my computer, it came up with about 29,000 errors. Is this a problem?

I have 3 memory cards:

Slot 1: Samsung 256MB DDR PC2700
Slot 2: K-byte 256MB DDR PC2100
Slot 3: Kingston 256MB DDR PC2100
(I only have 3 memory slots)

Hello,

There could be a problem with your memory. What were the exact error messages reported by MemTest86?

I would try testing with just one module installed at a time.

Mixing brands and types could be the cause.

There should be no error messages.

RAM has to function 100% or it will cause all kinds of system problems.

I ran memtest again and it found nothing. Why would it find errors one time and not the next?

Hello,

Did you make any changes to the system between running MemTest86, including things like changing BIOS settings or re-seating the memory?

Hello,

That's very strange, I've never had or experienced such a problem myself.

Have you tried checking with the author to see if this is a known issue?
