Hi.....How do I install a one-word link to an URL address? Such as: "here" I can do it in my e-mail client, which is Thunderbird, and in MS Word and Works, but not in my browser, which is Firefox. This is handy when posting a suggestion to a forum on a website - such as this one. I read instructions on how to do it:
Highlight the URL (link) you want to insert. Hold in the ctrl key and hit c to copy to clipboard. Now open a reply window or new discussion window. Type the word you want the link inserted into like HERE and high lite the word and click on this icon now click inside the box to the give that window focus and hold in the ctrl key and hit the v key to paste the link.
You can also do the same thing with pictures like this click the smiley."
I can create a tiny URL, but can't find the icon the guy refers to. It doesn't show up clear in this email, but here is a link to the site which will show a clear picture of the icon:
http://tinyurl.com/lpvub ...Is this icon just part of Internet Explorer? I'm guessing that it is, since it doesn't appear to be on Firefox. Do you know of a way to create a 'one word' URL, like "here", in Firefox? Thanks....Jim Hamm
