Hello lordrott and welcome to Lockergnome!

So your problem is that you can't build anything in build mode?

that´s right.
when i select i.e. the wall tool and y move the mouse over de grass to create a wall, the mouse doesn´t switch to the shape of a wall, a window, etc. it keeps with the arrow shape.
i tried clicking, rioght clicking and nothing happens.

i´ve reinstalled the game 3 times and that issue remains. the installation goes with no errors...

You double click the file, the setup program will then run and then follow the onscreen instructions.

1. I can't build anything in the build mode.

This is either due to corruption of some of the games files or your using a no CD crack with is actually illegal as it circumvents copyright protection. To fix this try uninstalling and reinstalling the game without the crack.

Taken from my SIMS 2 FAQ.

Go into control panel > display > settings.

Then change your screen resolution using the slider and change your colour settings by using the drop down box. Click apply, click ok.

Sorry but I don't have Yahoo messenger.

So you've installed the Intel graphics card drivers and they didn't make any difference? It still displays the same message?

Have you tried reinstalling DirectX 9?

Make sure you install the correct chipset drivers. You have a Intel integrated graphics card so you're not going to have a Nforce chipset.
You can download your chipset drivers from the computer manufacturers website or the motherboard manufacturers website.

Download a copy of Everest home edition from here.
Installed it, run it, click motherboard and click motherboard again.
It will then display the required motherboard information, paste it with your next post and I'll see if I can find you some drivers.

Didn't give me the information I expected because it doesn't know what motherboard you have.
Run Everest Home again, click motherboard and then chipset. Paste that with your next post.

The Intel integrated cards do work with Sims 2 but I newer graphics card would be better but even then there is a possibility that you'll get the same problem.

The unknown part might be that your graphics card isn't supported by the game or it doesn't know what card it is.
