Hello Suicidalsweets and welcome to Lockergnome!

What are the specs of your PC?
If you don't know then please download and run SysSpec. Run the file > click on the system button > click edit > click copy to clipboard and then paste it with your reply.

One more thing I forgot - I checked my event logs and they don't show any record of The Sims 2 crashing...

Hello shootin151 and welcome to Lockergnome!

The blank error message normally appears when using illegal copies of the game.

I have all legal versions of the game and expansion packs. Yet I have just recently on reinstall began receiving this same error. I have not let anyone else copy my software. My games are a mix of cd versions and ealink downloads. This began shortly after installing the last Stuff pack (fashion). Sometimes it seems that ealink is the dodgiest thing about the game. It has also begun losing server connection regularly though my line is still active.

I hate this error. Would appreciate some help.

All of my copies are legal, store bought copies. If this is EA's idea of a $180 joke, I'm not laughing. I have UNI, Nightlife, Open for Business, Family Fun Stuff, Pets, Seasons. The red x went away after updating Family Fun stuff, and I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 2 and all the expansion packs. It still crashes right after the video, no red x anymore though.
