Upgrading the card for such an old PC isn't really cost effect, you'd probably be better off with a new PC.

I have the answer... all you have to do is clean the disk. if you have a problem, and the computer says you can't move a file like this:

"TSData\Res\Sims3D\sims08.package"

to a place, then clean the disk. I did a bunch of stuff like going through and testing the files it complains about, and found that it complains about corruption in the files. i cleaned the disk, and POOF! a happy, non-corrupted file was born! just proceed with manual install to complete process. hope this helps. (P.S.: not sure if the install works. trying that now.)
