I am thinking of attending this year for the first time and was thinking why not share a room and meet someone new? Marriott has rooms with two double beds for $80 a night and they have a skypath going straight to the convention center.

The obvious disclaimer of please do not be an axe murderer applies  . I hope to bring my Tablet PC but other than that the room will not be too full of electionic gizmos. Planning on staying Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Do you want to cut your room bill in half too?

I am a 24 year-old straight male travelling from San Francisco.

Glad to see others thinking of sharing lodging! I wrote to Lori and asked her about attending and my plan to stay with a friend nights in Iowa City. She suggested I come to the forum here and see if anyone else has a room already or plans to get one and would be interested in sharing with me. I am female and harmless to the best of my knowledge. Let me know if you would be interested in sharing a room. You may reach me at cobalt RemoveThis @myway.com Thanks!

I did find a hotel 5 or 10 miles away for $36 a night, but if someone wants to share one at the hotel next to the convention I'd be up for that. It'd be about the same cost and then I wouldn't have to worry about gas and such. Unless someone would like to share a room a few miles away that'd be really cheap? Just a thought.

Oh and I'm a 24 year old female who isn't a nutcase (assuming you think geeks are normal!)
