Somehow I've managed to switch the Vista log-in screen away from the one with an icon for each person and no need to type in user names or passwords, to the one that does need a user name. I have no idea how I did it!
I can't make it change back again.
I've tried System Restore.
I've tried undoing any recent changes I've made, no matter how irrelevant it seems.
I searched online and can find lots of tips and tweaks that can make this happen, if you want it to, but none of them seem to be able to make it go away again. I have managed to tweak it so that it logs into my wife's profile on boot - ( otherwise...

)
Then I can change user and enter my name when I want to use the machine. Which is a work around that I can live with. But isn't how I want it.
So, in a nutshell; how do I get my Vista log-in back to showing the Vista log in pictures and lose the username thing?
Vista home premium SP1
EDIT.
OK, for future reference. I had Winbubble on my machine. One of the settings in that was "Show welcome page to desktop". I didn't even know if that would do what I needed,(Winbubble doesn't explain itself very well ) but I set it just in case it was...And it worked!
It's not a programme I've used in months- it's only there because I never got round to removing it: But now I'm glad it's still there. i reckon I'll be keeping it.
