Guys,
I bought a toshiba laptop(satellite L650) & for the most part, I love it. Fiddling
around with it I somehow had a toshiba tool bar appear above the other 2
I have at the top. With the 2 I have my space has become even more cramped
and I'd like to get rid of it. The thing is I right-clicked on the tool bar & it gave
me options for getting rid of the others, but not itself! It's the only bug in my
love-affair with this new laptop. please help!

ps I also wound up with intrusive pop-ups all over the place! |

Hello,
If there is no option to disable it through the Program and Settings (filename: APPWIZ.CPL) applet in the Control Panel, than your best bet is to contact Toshiba's technical support for information on how to disable it.

Goretsky & e.t.,
I went to Programs>Toshiba>Utilities>Settings For Flash cards>Disable
flash cards, but I didn't recognise anything as 'Tool Bars'. I see all kinds of
things to delete but nothing I recognised as tool bars. Anything else I can
try?

Hello,
I'm not familiar with current Toshiba notebook computers, so I would suggest checking with their technical support.

I'm still trying to figure out what a "Toshiba Tool Bar" is. ???
I've installed MANY Toshiba laptop computers and I don't remember seeing a toolbar anywhere.
The only toolbars I'm familiar with are those that appear at the top of the screen when you open a browser. (I.E. or Firefox)
I just go into VIEW in the browser and delete the toolbars. They are for the most part, Worthless! and just take up valuable browser window space.
So, what are we talking about here?
Post a picture of it, if you can.

drwho07,
I'm talking about the bars across the top; I currantly have four (!): Google,
.Norton and Xfinity. I was fooling around with some Toshiba stuff when I hit
something and BAM! there was this space hogging toolbar above the
others. I call it the Toshiba toolbar because I was looking at some Toshiba
documents when it happened. I was also suddenly smothered with
pop-ups! The thing is, I followed some advise from here at Lockergnome,
right-clicked on the toolbar and was presented with instructions for
removing all the toolbars, but nothing about this particular toolbar! To tell
the truth the machine functions as if it's infected with a virus or something.
Will this help in identifying the problem? I sure need it !

PS I can't recall what info I was actually looking at when all this happened. |

Hello,
Oh, so it wasn't something installed at the factory by Toshiba?
It sounds like you accidentally clicked on a link to install a malicious toolbar, then.
Try installing antivirus software to remove it.
